- Kona Coffee Cultural Festival (November 6 – 15, 2009): From concerts and lantern parades to coffee tastings and the Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Pageant, the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is a diverse, multi-faceted celebration of one of the island’s most delicious resources.
- Big Island Indigenous Film Festival (November 20 – 22, 2009): Experience unique perspective on local life through this three-day festival, featuring films from native Hawaiian, native American and First Nation filmmakers. To be held at the area’s Palace Theatre.
- Lavaman Triathlon (March 28, 2010): Sanctioned by USA Triathlon, this event challenges participants to a 1.5k swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run. As the official hotel for the Lavaman, Hilton Waikoloa Village offers special rates for triathlon athletes, and provides easy access to all race courses.
- Kona Brewers Festival (March 2010): This event is designed to promote the microbrewery revolution in Hawai'i. Rain or shine this festival includes drinking, dining, golf and charity runs!
