April is a great time to visit Hawaii; there’s warm weather, less rain following the winter season, and an abundance of activities happening, particularly over the Easter period. If you have an upcoming trip and are looking for things to do, why not tick a few of these off your list:
1. Merrie Monarch Festival
With roots stemming back to 1963, this week-long event celebrates and showcases Hawaiian culture in memory of the “Merrie Monoarch”, King Kalākaua. The festival features a grand parade, Hawaiian arts fair, and an internationally renowned hula competition.
2. Easter Brunch and Festivities at Kā'anapali Beach Hotel
On Sunday 21 April, enjoy family fun including a petting farm and face painting, followed by a delectable Easter Brunch from award-winning chef Tom Muromoto. Join the fun between 8 am and 1 pm.
3. Easter Champagne Brunch Cruise
Experience Easter on the water with Star of Honolulu. On 21 April, bring along the family and enjoy the “Taste of Hawaii” buffet, an Easter egg hunt, live music, and culture activities including lei making and ukulele lessons.
4. Bishop Museum: The Untold Stories of Easter Island
If you’re visiting neighbouring island Honolulu, visit the exhibit at Bishop Museum that explores the wonders of Easter Island (named so due to its discovery on Easter Sunday back in 1722). Discover cultural findings and natural specimens – some of which have never been seen before.
5. Egg Hunt at Wet ‘n’ Wild
For Kapolei day-trippers, this family-friendly event is happening on Easter Sunday between 9:30 am and 4 pm and features an ‘Egg Pool’, prizes, and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.
Enjoy one or more of these events for a memorable Easter break before returning to your base at Hilton Waikoloa Village.
